It's a question of ability – not taste.
Improving your skills gives you security
I admit that not everyone gets the opportunity to go on tour. For OPUS112 it was very special to receive the invitation of the Ministry of Culture of the People's Republic of China to give 10 concerts in front of 1,000 to 2,000 spectators each in the concert halls of different cities of the country. This tour was a highlight of the career for each of the 56 musicians.
Below you can find several titles from this tour that are not only examples of perfect interplay.
They also show that a concert band can be perfectly capable of playing traditional Chinese music.

… as well as the start of the New Year.
In 2014 the Hannover Congress Center (HCC) celebrates its 100th anniversary. A very good reason to start the year with a special concert: The New Year concert with OPUS112.
The China-Tour was a big Highlight, but I think that this concert was even better than that.
I did not talk to all of the more than 1.000 visitors in the audience, but those I talked to were absolutely enthusiastic about the orchestra and the concert. One of them was the mare of Hannover Mr. Stefan Schostok, he declared that he is one of our dedicated fans.
Mr. Joachim König (Director of the Hannover Congress Center) was very pleased about his decision to have OPUS112 play the New years Concert. He decided immediately that OPUS112 will play the New Year Concert next year again. Prospective date: January 10th 2015.

Those who „make music” rarely do so just for themselves. Especially orchestra musicians want to present their art to the public on a larger (or smaller) scale.
The more extensive their skills, the more demanding the music. To the same extent, the perfection of the interplay among the musicians as well as between orchestra and conductor will increase.
Not all of us may get the chance to go to China, but these clips from Chinese television show how such an interplay can work.
The goal of my seminars is to make every concert for every musician a special experience. Then it will automatically be special for the audience, too.
